How to bind FrSky XM+ and Taranis X-Lite S Controller: I used older firmwares
There are a lot of XM receivers out there. I built a BNF for a customer and could not bind his X-Lite so I took it home and flashed all combinations of firmware. It turns out that I had the correct old version of XM Plus firmware 170313 flashed. The X-Lite internal "ISRM" compatible version of firmware is 2019-08-12 ISRM v1.1.3. The new ISRM v2.1.0 claims to have D16 ACCST compatibility with the XM Plus v2.1.0 firmware but the two XM Plus receivers in my possession would only work with the X-Lite S controller when using the combination of firmwares noted above.

On the FrSky Page for the XM Plus Receiver, download the link that says:

On the Taranis X-Lite S Page, download v 1.1.3 for the internal RF:
2019-08-12 ISRM v1.1.3 Firmware for ISRM(internal RF module) update only.
1. Further reduce the system latency.
2. Optimize algorithm of RSSI.
3. Increase PWM signal period to 7ms.
Note:Please update firmware of receiver and radio to the latest versions accordingly.
Please take care of that your servos are compatible to 7ms PWM signal.
