The Madame Tussauds attraction opened in 2011, replacing the previous Louis Tussauds waxworks. In March 2010 it was confirmed that a deal had been made between Blackpool Council and Leisure Parcs to purchase some of Blackpool's attractions which included the purchase of Blackpool Tower, Winter Gardens, Louis Tussauds, Bonny Street Market, Mr. T's Amusements, the Sealife Centre and Pirate Golf. Merlin Entertainments were announced as the new operators of Blackpool Tower and Louis Tussauds, which was refurbished and rebranded as Madame Tussauds Blackpool.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool is made of zones including Marvel, Strictly Come Dancing, Coronation Street, Doctor Who, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here and YouTube star DanTDM
