Facebook goes shopping for WhatsApp
Facebook has bought its biggest acquisition so far with the purchase of the messaging app WhatsApp for $16bn (11.6 billion euros)
Popular with people wanting to avoid text messaging, WhatsApp has over 450 million monthly users.
Facebook's thinking is that by buying the app it will maintain its dominance in social networking, as users move to mobile devices, and it will grow its already massive userbase.
