Samsung Galaxy A30 Review: The Perfect Mid-Range Smartphone?
So what has Samsung got to offer with this brand new Galaxy A30? First of all - the great new design – minimum bezels, U-shaped notch, reflective back panel. The Galaxy A30 kicks off with a sleek look that definitely gets the attention of the surroundings. With more camera capabilities, large AMOLED display, great processor, more RAM, new user interface, a bigger battery, there’s a whole lot of features and specs to talk about. So this is the full review of the Samsung Galaxy A30, the $245 midrange smartphone. Is this going to be your next daily driver? Find out in this review.
The first thing that stands out when you look at the phone is the crisp display (Infinity U display). The fact that you get a display of this quality in a midrange phone is just amazing. The display is very bright, color accurate, vivid and there’s no doubt you’ll fall in love with it. Perfect for content consumption. There’s a small U-shaped notch that houses the selfie camera (16MP, f/2.0). The back side of the phone is made out of reflective poly-carbonate that feels like glass. Also at the back you get the dual camera setup (16MP, f/1.7 wide and 5MP, f/2.2 ultrawide) and a fingerprint sensor. With the new ultrawide camera, you can now take some darn cool shots that portraits a different perspective.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy A30’s Exynos 7904 is very of capable for daily tasks. However, the experience is not smooth when it comes to gaming. Games like PUBG, Need for Speed: No Limits run quite good on medium graphics settings, although a few lags and stutters are sure to get in your way. Multitasking is easier with the massive 4GB RAM and the 64GB on board storage gives you a lot of room to breathe (other variant in 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM). Also the massive 4000 mAh battery keeps your phone alive throughout your busy day and the 15W fast charging makes sure your phone battery percentage increases considerably in a short given time.
