Rapunzel Musical Story for Preschoolers I Bedtime Story I Fairy Tales I The Teolets
You are watching "Rapunzel", an animated musical fairy tale recreated by The Teolets. This story teaches us that wisdom comes from life experiences and that patience will be rewarded.
Did you know that ''Rapunzel'' is a fairy tale, which is a type of traditional literature? That means it probably started off being told by word of mouth instead of being written down, and it has been changed and retold many times by now. Fairy tales often have a good and an evil character, magical elements, royal characters, and characters who are very poor. The German fairy tale ''Rapunzel'' was published by the Grimm Brothers in 1812.
Once upon a time there was a very poor couple, a carpenter and his wife, who were expecting their first child. The mother had a craving for some lettuce called Rapunzel or rampion. The husband, desperate to please his wife, stole some from their next-door neighbor; who happened to be an evil witch. The witch caught him and let him go, but only if he promised to give her the baby when it was born.
The baby turned out to be the beautiful Rapunzel. The witch locked Rapunzel in a tall tower with no stairs and she visited the girl by climbing her long hair to the top of the tower.
One day a prince was riding through the forest and heard Rapunzel's beautiful voice. He figured out how to visit her by calling, ''Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair,'' and they fell in love.
The witch discovered what had been going on and punished the prince by making him blind. He wandered the forest looking for Rapunzel. Rapunzel ran away from the witch and set out to look for her prince. She eventually found him and they were reunited. Her tears brought his sight back and the power of true love destroyed the witch. Rapunzel and the prince lived happily ever after.
This tale teaches many lessons to children. The consequences of stealing, the value of patience and determination, are some of these qualities. It was because of Rapunzel’s parents’ actions that Rapunzel was taken away by the witch. Yet at the end of the story, it is patience and determination that helps Rapunzel to find her Prince.
The moral of the story is that when something is destined to happen then no one, by any of their powers, can stop that from happening. One should never give up on one's hopes no matter how bad or hard the situation.
