Hot Rasping: Metal Filing Techniques
In this video, I cover one of the metal filing techniques called “hot rasping”. I demonstrate hand filing metal in this video, to show the hand techniques. I also discuss the differences between rasp sizes. This is a low cost alternative to a belt sander, and can create a smooth finish. If you’re a beginning blacksmith, this is one of those handy techniques to know!
