Create a PDF document for free in .NET Core. This tutorial will show you how to create a PDF document using HTML & CSS in ASP.NET Core.

PDF documents have become popular in recent times.

They have the advantage of having a consistent layout, and they are supported on all major operating systems.

This makes them ideal for web applications, and can be used for many examples, such as an invoice, or an order receipt.

To demonstrate how to create a PDF document in ASP.NET Core, we will use an ASP.NET Core MVC application in .NET 5.

Our first example will show how to capture a website layout and render it into a PDF document. As responsive websites have different layouts depending on the device that is being used, we will store the mobile, tablet and desktop view of the website in the PDF document.

Afterwards, we will concentrate on creating a PDF document as an invoice. We will create an MVC partial view, which will include the HTML of the invoice and the CSS styling.

From there, we will render that partial view and input it into a PDF document.

Finally, as well as outputting the PDF document as part of the HTTP response, we will also show how to save the PDF document onto the server's file storage.
