DIY Universal Oil Cooler Install. Should You Install An Oil Cooler? In this video we are going to be installing and engine oil cooler on my Mustang. Oil coolers are a worthwhile upgrade if you plan on driving your vehicle hard. Doing track days or perhaps adding lots of power with a turbo. Oil coolers are also a great upgrade if you plan on doing a lot of towing.

I'm going to be installing an air to oil oil cooler in this video. Oil coolers also come in the oil to water type. Air to oil oil coolers work just like a radiator, air passes over a heat exchanger which cools the oil. The water to oil type uses engine coolant to cool the engine oil.
