If War Thunder's Hetzer was historically accurate

The Jagdpanzer 38(t), which is commonly and incorrectly referred to as the Hetzer, was a German solution to the onslaught of Allied tanks they faced during WWII. The idea was that by using the chassis of a Panzer 38(t), they could create a lot of cheap and reliable tank destroyers. All was not well, however, as the design had some major drawbacks. It was incredibly cramped and unergonomic for the crew, with most of the crew having very little in the way of observation devices. The thick front armor also took a toll on the suspension and final drives since the vehicle was now incredibly front-heavy. These mechanical issues would gradually be ironed out, but fuel shortages and the strategic bombing campaigns meant that it never really made a difference.
