Kokomo mom speaks on Cleft awareness
July is cleft awareness month and a local Kokomo mom is speaking at this year's 'Cleft Con', being held in Houston, Texas.
The CDC says 1 in 1,700 babies are born with cleft palate each year in the U.S.
This occurs when a baby's lip or mouth don't fully form or develop.
At 19 weeks pregnant, Monica Bush found out her son would be born with a cleft. Since then, she's been on a journey of learning and overcoming obstacles.
