I Call BS: Jimmy Corsetti and the Archaeology of the Richat Structure
Jimmy Corsetti claims that the Richat Structure, a geological feature in the Sahara, is the best candidate for the lost city of Atlantis. He explains the lack of any evidence of Atlantean material culture by asserting that a tsunami swept across the Sahara and removed all traces of the city. There are well-known Lower Paleolithic (Acheulean) sites within the Richat structure, however, clearly falsifying that claim: how could a tsunami strong enough to wipe away every trace of Atlantis leave in place a bunch of stone tools? I call BS on Jimmy Corsetti.
