Where Do Aperture Numbers Come From?
We're going back to basics here at CLO and today we're discussing the aperture numbering system. Most photographers do not understand the aperture numbering system, how the numbers are calculated, or why they double and halve in value in the manner that they. Today we're going to explain all that and, in the process, understand something about lenses and lens development. We'll also introduce the stop system that we use to control light in any environment.
