The newer versions of V-Ray 5 come with so much great free content. Chaos Cosmos is a great addition to the V-Ray Material Library that already existed. Cosmos brings high quality models, fully ready to drag and drop into your scene. They have high end, perfectly working materials already applied, and they are already made into V-Ray proxies for you. It is truly drag and drop functionalilty. If you aren't familiar with these assets, or don't quite know how to use them or integrate them into your workflow, this is the video for you. You will want to make sure you are using these free assets for sure. High quality Vray materials, high quality Vray models, super easy functionality.
As a manager of a team of artists, one of the things I focus on a lot is workflow and content management. Obviously, Cosmos isn't an all in one solution for that, because there is no ability to add your own custom objects to it, but for what it is, it works great. I kind of wish it was an all in one solution. The functionality is so basic and therefore simple. I will also say that the content that is there is pretty varied, and very high quality. Unfortunately, if you need a custom object, it can't handle that, but I do have courses explaining how to make those kinds of objects.
The V-Ray Material Library is very similar in that it works very well right out of the box, with drag and drop functionality that is very easy to use. Again, though, it is not an all in one solution. Consider both of these tools as a stand alone content manager for material/model content that Chaos wants to give you for free. When you look at it in that way, both tools just give you a really easy way to use some really nice V-Ray assets, and lots of them.
