We are in our fifth week of Shelter in Place, at least in California. Through this time we’ve all had to make sacrifices and have been through disorienting adjustments that have weighed heavily on our mental state. For some, this time has liberated us to the present, putting our own minor concerns into perspective and bringing things we take for granted to the forefront and new meaning.
But as we move out of this phase and start opening up the economy and move into a new normal, certainly not the old normal, the question is will we see another silent pandemic - this time a mental health pandemic and is our mental health system prepared?
