The Arachu Kalakki is a select recipe in the Pakallad Iyer Cuisine, and one of the popular Kerala Iyer Recipes.

This variant of the Arachu Kalakki recipe is a mango ginger chutney recipe, and this is one of the mango ginger uses. There are many variants of Arachu Kalakki made in Pakallad Iyer cooking (or Palakkad Iyer samayal as it would be colloquially called)

What is Mango Ginger? Mango Ginger plant is related to ginger, but with the flavour of mango. The fleshy root that is eaten is actually a modified underground stem called the Rhizome.
