This video will show how to resize an Image file size using Preview that comes with a Mac. If you want to see how this is done on a PC with Windows 10 with the Photos app, you can view it here.

First, duplicate the file in the Finder window by right-clicking and select duplicate.
Then open the file with the word Copy appended to the file name; from Mac Preview, click Tools and Adjust Size.
Choose a size or enter a custom size and click ok.
