When a high fever struck, Kalani was rushed to our Scottish Rite Emergency Department, where she was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a heart disease that reduces the heart's ability to pump blood effectively. Months after being placed on the transplant list, Kalani’s family received the call they will never forget.
