When I look back and think about what I did that ultimately led to my success, I think about one thing: my plans. My almost pathological tendency to plan EVERYTHING, from my content to my brand deals to my paintings. Every step of my art career I planned out. Every pivot, every branding shift, everything.
Did I always follow those plans to the letter? Almost never. BUT the ACT of planning is what made the difference. That's what gave me the crucial focus, long-term mindset, and direction I NEEDED to take my art full time.
