In this video, I'll show you how to find the surface area and the volume of pyramids. If you have been to Egypt or watch Egyptian documentaries, you will see that the pyramid has a base of a square with four identical triangles on each side of the pyramid. So, the surface area of the pyramid is basically the area of the base square plus the area of the four identical triangles.

The volume of the pyramid is similar to the volume of a cone. As you can see in the video, the volume of a pyramid is V = (1/3)(b^2)(h), where b is the side of the square and 'h' is the height of the pyramid. You also need to remember that the volume of the pyramid is one-third of the volume of the rectangular prism.

By the end of the video, I hope that you learned how to easily find the surface area and the volume of pyramids. This is one of my favourite exercises in math because it is so easy. In the next video, instead of the surface area and volume of pyramids, I'm going to show you how to find the surface area and volume of triangular prisms, and the method is pretty similar.
