My name is Oleg. I am engaged in car repair and it so happened that I mainly deal with Audi with 2.5 TDI V6 engines, but not only.
On Audi A6C5 automobiles, brake pad wear sensors are installed on the front wheels. The system, in principle, is very useful - when the pads are worn, the wiring in any of the front pads is cut, the circuit breaks and a yellow icon and a buzzer appear on the instrument panel. But the control circuit goes sequentially from the instrument panel to the front right wheel, then to the wear sensor of the left front wheel and then to ground. while the harness passes through the struts, through the body and can break off anywhere, and not on the wear sensors themselves. And it turns out that the pads are normal and the signal on the panel is constantly on.
There are two ways - either we restore the system or deceive. To restore, you must carefully and consistently look for a cliff.
In order to bypass the system and put out the signal on the dashboard, as a rule, it is enough to short the wires going to the wear sensors on each wheel. If this method does not help, then you need to apply mass to the desired pin on the dashboard.
