The cape lion became extinct in 1865 but the South African black-maned lions as seen in the video will have any genetic kinship with the extinct cape lions in the wild??
There has been much speculation recently as to whether or not the Cape Lion is extinct or not. In this video, I discuss the evidence for and against the Cape Lion's existence and provide my own personal opinion.
This is a tribute to the Cape Lion and the many questions that it has sparked amongst the scientific community. I hope that you enjoy the video and that it provides you with some insight into the current state of the Cape Lion debate.
