Lieutenant Governor's Alberta Distinguished Artist Jane Ash Poitras discusses the role of the U o A's famed printmaking program in shaping her career.
Poitras, who holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in printmaking, as well as a degree in microbiology from the U of A, is an internationally acclaimed visual artist whose work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world. She is a long-standing sessional instructor with the U of A's Faculty of Native Studies and a highly sought-after guest lecturer across North America. She receives her award along with another U of A alum, Robert Kroetsch, in Saint-Albert April 9.
