On January 14, 2014, a Tuesday, just before noon, law enforcement officers were dispatched to a residence in Frisco, Texas, United States, to conduct a welfare check on Anna Moses, a 43-year-old woman. Living independently, Anna's boyfriend, Michael Stodnick, raised concerns when he couldn't get in touch with her. They were due to meet for a date the night before but when Michael arrived at Anna's house at 7:30 p.m., her house was dark, all the lights were off and her car was not in the driveway. This was unusual because Anna typically left her car in the driveway, except in inclement weather when she would park it in the garage. Despite ringing the doorbell, calling, and sending texts, Michael received no response.
