MORE INFO ↴ Here's how I put it on + how to tell if your size is wrong!
I don't wear a scrunchie because my bonnet keeps my hair in place. Scrunchies leave a dent and stretch my roots. However some love this combo method! Try both and see.
➰ Steps to put it on:
1. Place your hands on the rim and spread it apart
2. Hook the back at the base of your hairline on your neck
3. Stretch the bonnet down and hold it open with one hand
4. Use your other hand to press the ends of your curls up towards the roots like you're "plopping" your hair inside. This prevents misshaped and stretched curls.
5. Optional: Roll the rim until it's snug enough around your hair to keep all your curls up.
❌ How to tell if your bonnet is not the right size:
Your hair is falling down around your neck
Your hair is smushed and barely fits inside
The rim feels loose and falls off at night
The rim is too snug and leaves a dent
⚠️ It's common for bonnets to fall off at night if you have:
Loose curls
Waves
Straight roots
Very silky/soft hair
This is because there is nothing for the fabric to grip to.
In this case, try an adjustable band like the one I'm wearing, or one that ties like the alternate one I showed.
Some people also like to pin it in place with clips or bobby pin.
