LUDUS Full band cover of the Intro and Castle Gates from Golden Axe II
What would you like to see me cover next?
Golden Axe? Get it! I used a gold guitar! Golden... Axe...? Forget it.
I've always loved the Golden Axe games. Golden Axe II was a personal favourite and it was also one of the games that I played just to listen to the soundtrack. I remember loading the game up and hearing the intro music, that faux Gustav Holst Mars rhythm into a funky blues theme always made me hit the reset button just to hear it over again.
This song took me a while to figure out all the parts, Especially the Brian May leads at the beginning. Since Castle Gates and the Intro are basically the same song (sans lead line) I also stuck that in there as well.
I recorded this cover in Logic Pro X through a Focusrite Clarett 8pre. Guitars were done on my Ernie Ball Sterling John Petrucci signature JP157 in Neptune Blue into my Kemper Profiling Amp Rack and my 60th anniversary American Fender Stratocaster DI'd directly into my Clarett and given the Cory Wong treatment. Bass was recorded on my Dingwall Adam 'Nolly' Getgood NG-3 6 String in Laguna Blue through my Kemper.
Drums were recorded using my Roland TD17KV V Drums Kit with the GGD Modern and Massive and Invasion kits.
Kemper patches were a 5150 and Mesa Mark V from GGD and a Darkglass B7K profile.
