In this tutorial, I show you the new VR Core Unity default project, its current limitations and how to overcome them to quickly create a moving, turning, and hand tracking VR scene that casts to the Oculus Quest.
Text Steps
1. Start VR Core Project
2. Go to Edit/ProjectSettings/XR Plugin and Click Oculus
3. Go to Package Manager/Register and Install XR Interaction Framework (May have to enable preview packages)
4. Let it restart. Also install the Default Input Actions
5. Import Default Input Actions for left and Right Controller.
6. Set Presets for Left and Right in Edit/PresetManager
7. Add XR Rig, Locomotion System, Continuous Move Provider (action based), Snap Turn Provider (action based). Ensure all components are tied to each other.
8. Add Input Action Manager to XR Rig. Add Element and Select XRI Default Input Actions.
9. For Continous Move Provider, add left hand reference to Move. For Snap Turn, add right hand reference to Turn.
10. Add XR Controller to both left and right controllers.
11. Press play.
