It's never been more important to back up Gmail emails. With hackers constantly looking for account weaknesses, it's possible that your email account could be compromised. Messages could be lost. You might even lose access to your Gmail account. That's why you'll want to have a good Gmail backup to your computer's hard drive.
There are several ways to back up Gmail emails with attachments. In this tutorial, we use the Google Takeout utility to download all your emails in a .mbox file. In the future, if you ever need it, you can use the Mozilla Thunderbird email client to restore all emails to a new account.
