How I made the Arduino Wireless Signal Light for Helmet
Hello guys!,
A YouTuber friend (Batang Kalye Motovlog • Video ) once brought me an idea of putting signal lights on a helmet. The concept was to control the helmet lights with your motorcycle signals (Left/Right turn and Brake). So I made a DIY Arduino Wireless Signal Light... :)

Here's how I made my simple project...
I'll discuss in details on how does it work from start to finish.
Pardon me for the audio transition from low or high volume since this tutorial was recorded in different date and time.
The parts I used on this project are listed below:
Arduino Pro Mini.(2Pcs)
433MHZ STX882 ASK Transmitter Module + Antenna
SRX882 SuperHeterodyne Receiver Module + Antenna
PC817C 4 channel Optocoupler isolation board
DC to DC Step down Buck Converter Voltage Regulator
WS2812B RGB Addressable LED 8 Channel NeoPixel (2pcs)
10k Ohms Resistor 1/4W (4pcs)
Jumper wires
Housing(your option)
FTDI232 serial adapter (for programming the arduino)
You can decide what's best for your signal light diffusers. I customized an acrylic panel. Did some cutting, sanding, glue, etc. Just to create my housing for the signal lights. However, you could just simply design your own and have it 3D printed. It's always your choice.
Moving on, I used a proteus simulator in order to simulate the circuit prior to construction.
As for the code, I used the sample given from the Google 😁. Made some tweaks just to achieve my desired animation. Again, it's always your choice to do the animation.

Update:
Actual footage on the road. Another YouTuber (JD Motovlog) spotted my helmet while on the road. This makes the project effective as it could attract the eyes for safety.
