Some ten years ago, Vardan Hovanissian's duduk and Emre Gültekin's saz began a musical exchange that extended to the creation of "Adana" a long overdue album that would reflect their fruitful musical collaborations.
The old friends, one from Armenia the other from Turkey, felt compelled to release an album that would inspire harmony and reconciliation in the context of the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. An event that inflicted both nations with deep scars carried to this day.
Vardan and Emre's music would bring you into a contemplative mood, plenty of nostalgia but at the same time open for hope and optimism. After all, life endures and flourishes against all odds.
