Adding a folder to a GitHub repository is creating a directory within the repository.

This directory can contain files, subdirectories, or other types of content.

Folders help organize the repository’s contents, making it easier to manage and navigate.

STEPS
To create a new folder in a GitHub repository,
1. Open GitHub.com on your computer web browser.
2. Go to the repository where you want to create and add a new folder.
3. Click on the "Add file" button and select "Create new file."
4. Type the desired folder name for your repository and enter / at the end.
5. GitHub will automatically create a new directory for your repository.
6. Enter the file name to create a file inside the new folder.
7. Click on the "Commit changes" button.
8. Click on the "Commit changes" button from the pop-up screen.

This will create a new folder with the placeholder file inside it.
