When we multiply a whole number by a mixed number, first we are going to turn the mixed number into an improper fraction. We also like to place our whole number over a one, so it looks like a fraction. Next, we will just multiply straight across (denominators don't have to be the same, yes!). After this we simplify and turn back into a mixed number (if applicable).
