NYPD addresses confusion about rape statistics
The New York Police Department addressed confusion about its crime statistics Thursday following a report by news agency, Newsy, that the NYPD is under-reporting its rape statistics by 38% compared to FBI crime data.
Eyewitness News examined the same data and found the issue is one of how sex crimes get classified.
