The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, released on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and later Switch, is a phenomenal game from start to finish.

And CD Project Red's commitment to well-thought out gameplay and masterful storytelling is evident from the game's very beginning, as they expertly onboard players into a complex world that could have otherwise run the risk of being perhaps a little too daunting for first-time players.

In this video, I take a closer look at the design behind The Witcher 3 from its opening moments to the end of White Orchard, examining everything from the way it handles dialogue and introduces the relationships between characters, to how it gradually presents new gameplay mechanics and encourages players to use them.
