We entered this pairing into our blind sample pool because of their comparable proof points and wheated mashbills (a mashbill is the recipe of grains used to make the whiskey—bourbon is always 51% or more corn, and the secondary grain in most bourbons is rye, however these two whiskeys both have the less-common grain of wheat as their secondary grain).
Despite their similarities, Maker's Mark Cask Strength is a readily available product in most markets, whereas Weller Antique 107 is heavily allocated and highly sought after in most markets.
