La Jolla San Diego Children's Pool
After staying in Ocean Beach, we escaped one afternoon to visit the Children's Pool in La Jolla. This area is a great place to look for wildlife and to walk above the waves along a seawall that protects the beach from oncoming waves.
La Jolla is an upscale neighborhood on the North side of San Diego and the coastline is absolutely stunning! The Children's Cove is located just a few blocks South of La Jolla Cove. There is a lifeguard station and restrooms. The sea wall was built in the 1930s and protects the beach from the waves and has provided a safe haven for sea lions as well.
Do you think this area should be protected for the sea lions or continue to serve as a children's playground? There is a bit of controversy on that topic.
I think it's a great place for people to enjoy the ocean who may not be able to walk on the beach. The concrete pathway does get a bit rough from years of wear and tear from the sea water.
