Sheriff's Sergeant Dashes to Safety as His Vehicle Gets Rammed
A motorist rammed into the car of a sheriff’s sergeant who was directing traffic in Lincoln County, Colorado, on Friday, June 14.
This dashcam footage shows Sgt Cole Britton directing traffic and assisting a motorist who was unable to move his vehicle, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Britton and the motorist are then seen running off the road shortly before the patrol car is rammed from behind.
“Sergeant Britton, as seen, observed a motorist approaching rapidly and realized a collision was inevitable,” the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the patrol car was transported to a local hospital, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The crash was being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol.
