When I was a kid I really enjoyed playing Golden Axe with my brother, especially the 3rd game - and a good deal of it was because of the music. Naofumi Hataya, Tatsuyuki Maeda, Haruyo Oguro and Tomonori Sawada - these are the people who composed the OST for Golden Axe III. It is unique in having the complex rhythmic patterns (6/8, 7/8 time signatures, syncopation, playing with note values) as well as modes (Dorian, Phrygian) and other harmonic intricacies.
In the process of picking the OST by ear the hardest part was to figure out the note value in bass lines as well as pick up bass lines and fast runs.
It took me 10 months to make this video: 3 months to pick up and make the sheets, 5 months to learn and 2 months to edit the recorded material.
