How people live in North Korea: how to survive on a $2 monthly salary, how Koreans pay for formally "free" education, how they build their careers, how they try to do business to feed their families, and how through smuggling and bribery one can become a small oligarch. We will uncover everyday life under communist occupation. This video is an astonishing journey into an otherworldly existence that, fortunately, we will never experience.

The people of North Korea live in one of the world's poorest countries, deprived of basic human rights, facing widespread violations, forced labor, and famine. Kim Jong Un's dictatorial regime is one of the most repressive governments globally.

North Korea is home to 26.5 million people taught to worship their leaders as gods. This forms the core of life in North Korea, reflecting in every aspect of their daily existence. The country is culturally and economically isolated. Over 18 million people nationwide, including 1.3 million children, require food assistance to avoid malnutrition.
