Adolf Hitler is still in power, but it’s not what you think
It’s not THAT Adolf Hitler, thank goodness
It’s this one. His full name is actually Adolf Hitler Uunona. He is currently serving as the councilor of the South-West Africa People’s Organization, a major political party in Namibia.
Now, Namibia was a former German colony and there are still lots of folks there with German names. In fact, Adolf as a first name is still fairly common there. However, he’s named Adolf Hitler?
Well Uunona says his father gave him the name Adolf Hitler without knowing about the…uh…other Hitler. Only much later in life did Uunona realize how his name was the same as arguably the most hated person in world history.
That all said, Uunona has said he hasn’t changed his name because it was already in all of his official documents.
But I’m skeptical of that reasoning, because it doesn’t seem that difficult to change your name on official documents in Namibia. What are you up to, Hitler? Huh?
