Political activist Zackie Achmat will stand as an independent candidate for the 2024 elections. The ‘Zackie2024’ campaign kicked off in Cape Town with a signature launch on Tuesday afternoon. Achmat, known for his social activism work with groups like Ndifuna Ukwazi and Reclaim the City, aims to be on the ballot paper next year.
He will need 15 000 signatures of endorsement and raise close to R12 million if he is going to be successful. #News24Video
