There are multiple actresses that ended up with completely different characters than the ones we know them for playing. Originally, Laurie Holden had auditioned for the role of Lori Grimes, but she ended up playing Andrea Harrison. Sonequa Martin-Green originally auditioned for the role of Michone, but she was turned down. They ended up liking her audition so much that they created the character Sasha so she could have a part. On the other hand, Matthew Lilliard auditioned for the part of Negan, and according to him, he made it down to the final two. Of course, Jeffrey Dean Morgan ended up winning the role.
