Cell Towers in Space! Starlink Expands Direct to Cell Testing
Starlink is asking the FCC for approval to test their Direct-to-Cell technology in more countries around the world. According to the FCC filing, Starlink wants to experiment in Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Starlink Direct-to-Cell allows normal cellphones to connect directly with Starlink Direct-to-Cell equipped satellites, to enable basic connectivity anywhere in the world, even where traditional cell coverage doesn't exist.
