Ethnicity vs Nationality
I did a video about the breakdown of ethnic groups in Mauritius and some comments got pretty heated.
There is a difference between Ethnicity and Nationality.
Ethnicity refers to shared ancestry, language and cultural traditions.
Nationality means belonging to a particular country or being a citizen of.
For example my parent’s Ethnicity is Chinese because their ancestors are from there, but their nationality is Mauritian or what we call the Sino Mauritian.
