Instructions below - Beware, I will set off your Google Assistant.
We are going to be making a Google Assistant run on the Raspberry Pi 2 (or 3, the instructions are the same) using the Google AIY project as a template. So essentially it is the Google AIY project but without the kit.
Take a look at the full instructions with illustrations - http://davidjwatts.com/google-aiy-wit...

What you will need (forgive the affiliate links):
Raspberry Pi 2/3
Amazon
UK - https://amzn.to/2y2RJFJ
US - https://amzn.to/2y0ZA6N
Micro-SD card (I would recommend a minimum of 8GB)
External powered speaker, Anker make a fairly good one but any should do:
Amazon
UK - https://amzn.to/2sT52CV
US - https://amzn.to/2xX4X74
USB soundcard, this option gives you 3.5mm input for audio and 3.5mm output. This is the one I bought from Amazon:
Amazon
UK - https://amzn.to/2l1Byzo
US - https://amzn.to/2LF01G3
You will need a cheap 3.5mm microphone for this approach, This is the one I bought but any should work:
Amazon
UK - https://amzn.to/2HAJWhR
US- https://amzn.to/2sTBV2f
WiFi dongle or Ethernet connection if using the Pi 2
A breadboard
A momentary button
A Google Account (This is so you can make use of the Google Assistant API)

Any questions? Feel free to ask, I and the community of makers will do their best to help.

It turns out that 'Likes' and 'Shares' actually help the channel so, if you want to, please click the thumbs up or share the video.

I don't have a Patreon or a donate thingy, I get by fine. That said, if you are mega rich and fancy donating something I would find useful then feel free to check out my Amazon wishlist (No pressure) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wish...

I put lots of my favourite products and stuff that helps me make video up on this Amazon page - https://www.amazon.com/shop/davidwatts It is one of those affiliate things.
