That there was a specific reason for the majority of the action taking place in the state of Georgia? Much of the action takes place in the post-apocalyptic landscape of the zombie-infested United States in The Walking Dead, in the state of Georgia. But there was a good reason for this and it had little to do with creative vision. The United States government had offered television companies a big tax incentive to film in Georgia as they hoped it would help with the state’s economy and drive tourism there. A similar situation happened with another popular television show, Breaking Bad, with the production company also offering tax breaks to shoot in New Mexico and help revive Alburquerque’s economy.
