OpenWRT - EdgeRouter X Throughput & Power Consumption (with Hardware Offloading)
I installed OpenWRT on the EdgeRouter X (ER-X) long time ago and it has been working great. Before going to back to stock firmware (EdgeOS) for DPI testing, I would like to share with you the EdgeRouter X performance with OpenWRT 22. The test includes:
WAN to LAN throughput test with iperf3 and OpenSpeedTest
Power consumption of the EdgeRouter X during idle and full load
Throughput & CPU usage with and without hardware offloading
The EdgeRouter X is running OpenWRT 22.03.2 stable release when running the tests.
