In 1969, Pontiac showed up with a GTO-derived “Judge” package which was inspired by Rowan and Martin’s avant-garde comedy TV show, ‘Laugh-In. The new Judge package would feature wild stripes and spoilers plus ‘The Judge’ graphics. Matching the new attitude of the Judge, was the availability of two potent engine packages offered by Pontiac that year. Pontiac engines in the GTO line displaced 400 cubes, and the new Ram Air III and Ram Air VI made use of the functional hood scoops.

The 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III Convertible is one of 79 Ram Air III 4-speed Judge Convertibles produced in 1969. One of Three Known Examples in Triple Black, this example had a
Concours Level Frame Off Restoration done. The 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III Convertible is truly One Of The Holy Grail Pontiac Muscle Cars. This example is 1 of 14 4-speed Judge convertibles produced in 1970 with air conditioning and only 1 of 3 Factory Starlight Black 4-speed 1970 Judge convertibles known to exist.

Additionally, this Judge convertible is equipped with 25 factory options, including power steering and power front disc brakes, the aforementioned air conditioning, power windows, power bucket seats, a console, the Ride and Handling package, an AM/FM radio with windshield antenna, left-hand remote mirror, the Rally Gauge Cluster with clock, a hood tachometer, a Formula steering wheel, front and rear floor mats, Soft Ray tinted glass, custom seat belts, remote trunk release, underhood and luggage compartment lamps, door edge guards, a spare tire cover and a heavy-duty battery.

With documentation from PHS authenticating its provenance, incredible options, and matching numbers drivetrain, this exceptionally rare 1970 GTO Judge convertible is also a very desirable example of the breed. It would be an excellent centerpiece for a well-curated collection or museum.
