Lexi Cao was looking at one of my gravity powered cars and commented that they needs to transport a 1kg mass and wanted to know what else to use for the tower as my favourite flower canes probably would not carry the weight. Today I spotted my local bargain store sells floor mops for £1 each and the handles look fine for making a suitable tower, so I bought 6 and made the chassis and the tower. This is probably much stronger than we need for just 1kg but it was fun building it.

Wooden dowel correct size for CD hole
Short length of strong plywood
Wooden disc for pulley
Length of thick wire to hang the pulley
Sash line for the string
Screws
