In this lesson, I am showing you why one of the most popular chord progressions for ambient guitar works so well by studying the theory behind Relative Chords and Secondary Dominants.

The more I study ambient guitar progressions, the more I notice how this is a genre that builds on the ambiguous sound of not settling for a Major or minor key... Playing in the grey area between both.

The emotion of the song lies on the interpretation of the listener of that grey area. Is it sounding sad or uplifting? Melancholic or hopeful? Only you can tell!

Because the theory behind it is consciously ambiguous. For me, this is fascinating!
