In today's Final Cut Pro tutorial, we're going to learn how to fix sharp S and T sounds in your audio by using the FREE Built-in Final Cut Pro tool, DeEsser, to help reduce sibilance. Sibilance is a higher pitched hiss of sounds like "sh," "th," "f," "z," and "v". We'll go over how to use DeEsser to help target these sounds and make them quieter in your audio. Having loud S and T sounds in voice audio is something I've dealt with for awhile and I've finally started to implement using this tool into my audio editing workflow within FCP. Hopefully it can help you as well!
Also, it's important to note that TOO much DeEsser applied can result in what sounds like a lisp of those S/T/F sounds.
